Why choose the MSc "Hotel Management - Executive MBA in Hotel Management"

In a country where tourism is the most important economic resource, accommodation and catering provides the vast majority of jobs. And yet, there are no university degrees in the country in the hotel sector, which certainly covers the catering sector.
The MSc "Hotel Business Management- Executive MBA in Hotel Management" is the only Postgraduate Program in Greece:
- with absolute specialization in Hotel Management and not in general scientific fields of tourism
- with academic teaching staff with many years of teaching and professional experience in the hotel industry
- with a high reliability index in the hotel industry
- with strong links to the hotel labour market (see the adjacent column "NEWS")
Flexible curriculum
The courses are partly online and partly face-to-face at the premises of the University of West Attica.
The distance learning courses are held every Monday.
In the winter semester, the face-to-face classes have been concentrated into three 4-day sessions during the months of November, December and January, so that working students in areas outside Athens are not obliged to travel every week.
The spring semester, which ends in April before the start of the tourist season, is similarly shaped.

The main objective of the Program is not to obtain another Master's Degree, but to gain applicable knowledge and practices from academics and established professionals in order to become a recognized and dynamic executive of the hotel industry in the future.

Career prospects in the hotel industry
The main volume of employment in the tourism sector is in accommodation and food services, both of which are linked to the wider hotel sector.
According to a recent survey by INSETE (2020), employment in accommodation and food services increased by +23.8% between 2010 and 2019 despite the prolonged economic crisis, in contrast to the other sectors where employment in the same period recorded a decrease of -13.5%.
The Programme is professionally oriented and for this reason, only graduates of Higher Tourism or Hotel Management, and/or Higher Education graduates who have at least three years of certified professional experience in the hotel industry (in the broad sense) are accepted.
In addition, it works in close cooperation with businesses in the sector.
This is no ordinary postgraduate degree
It is the effort of a group of academics to strengthen the dynamics of the hotel industry, offering studies in Hotel Management, equivalent to those of Cornell and Lausanne Universities.
